Since dump trailers are typically used to transport loose materials like soil and refuse, it’s unsurprising that they tend to get dirty very easily. The longer you leave grime clinging to your dump trailer, the more it will encourage corrosion. This guide from Glenn’s Trailer Sales will tell you how to best clean your dump trailer.

Prep for Cleaning

Before you grab the soap, give your dump trailer’s bed a sweep. Collect any garbage you find in a trash bag, and give the whole trailer a quick rinse with a hose. Don’t forget to clean the underside of the trailer as well!

Washing Your Dump Trailer

Water usually won’t be enough to get your dump trailer clean, at least not by itself. Once you’ve thoroughly rinsed the entire trailer, grab some automotive soap and a scrub brush and focus on any filth that’s still clinging to your trailer. If the dump trailer hasn’t been cleaned in a long time or it’s just unusually dirty, you can use a gentle acid wash to make things a bit easier. Scrub your trailer down again and rinse everything off. Allow your trailer to dry and apply a wax coating if you used the acid wash. The wax coating will help create a protective layer around your dump trailer.
